Two accused of raping girl, 12
Yesterday, her 26-year-old wireman “fiance” and her 21-year-old uncle pleaded not guilty in a Sessions Court here to three counts of raping her.
They are said to have raped the underage pupil in a kitchen at Rumah Panjang Setapak Jaya in Setapak at 3am on Oct 27, at PPR Salak Selatan in Jalan Salak Jaya at 2am on Oct 30, 2006 and in a kitchen at PPR Salak Selatan at 3am on Nov 3, 2006.
The girl’s father had lodged a complaint over the alleged rape and incest on Sept 9 last year.
DPP Nurul Ain Hamzah asked the court to deny bail, saying that the prosecution was concerned that both accused might disturb the victim.
However, she asked their bail to be set at RM30,000 in one surety if the court intended to use its discretion in the matter.
The wireman's father said he could only afford to raise RM3,000 for his bail while the uncle's sister pleaded for a lower bail for him.
Sessions Court judge Fathiyah Idris granted each accused bail of RM10,000 in one surety.
She set March 3 for mention pending the appointment of lawyers for them.
